Derek and Lindsey met at work and started out as just friends. But then, as often happens in life, one ordinary day, something changed. “Derek remembered I had just taken my last final. He said some friends from college were in town and we should celebrate. I contemplated going because he lived 45 minutes from me but I really had nothing else to do,” said Lindsey.
She had a great time with the guys but the night had to end. Back at work, she started reminiscing about what a great time she had. Then, Derek stopped her in her tracks. “He suddenly interrupted our conversation and said, ‘you have to let me take you on a date.’ I was a little shocked and first told him that I don’t like to date people I work with because it gets sticky. He assured me it wouldn’t and that he would show me a great time.” So she agreed. “We instantly had chemistry. Needless to say we fell in love fast.” They bought an apartment together after two months and he proposed four months later.
“We decided to have our engagement photos done at the winery because I am from a town near Temecula. My cousin (one of our photographers) suggested Wiens Family Cellars because it was very romantic and versatile. The vineyard was exactly what we wanted and was sentimental because I grew up around there.” The outdoor shoot turned out beautfiul. We love their use of bikes, the citrus fruits and simple hand holding as they walk along the lush green vines.
