Embrace the seasonal splendor of summer at your wedding with some inspirational details from this real wine country celebration. California natives who now live in Seattle, Matt and Emily got married at a private property in Napa Valley. To celebrate the groom’s Italian roots the couple wanted a taste of Tuscany at their wedding.
A standout element at this wedding were cute and friendly chalkboards, a design flourish that the event planners, Off the Beaten Path Weddings, always try to incorporate into their events. For example, the reception menu was posted on a giant chalkboard, tables labeled with smaller boards inserted inside baby artichoke plants and the words to a Beatles song inscribed on a big board all gave this wedding an endearing homemade warmth.
Bride Emily explains that the Beatles lyrics didn’t represent anything in particular just childhood memories, “Matt and I grew up with parents of the 60′s who all loved the Beatles. Naturally, we both have a fondness for their music having grown up listening to it.”
The reception also featured a cigar bar provided by Oye Productions. From the event planner, “The cigar bar was very authentic with a Cuban cigar roller and cigar girl. It was a huge hit.” Having a groom-centric bar–– be it cigars, liquor tasting or hookah––is a great way for your guest to relax and experience the things you enjoy.
In lieu of the traditional wedding cake, Matt’s uncle handmade cannolis with the help of his restaurant Capurros on the Wharf in San Francisco, California.
This wedding’s simple décor, a splash of lavender branches and purple hydrangeas here and there, complimented the warm season. The little details helped Matt and Emily’s guests embrace the open-air atmosphere and feel at home.
